Tas4x4Tours came about when Richard (Dick) and Kathy Le Fevre took two world renowned artists Chen Ping and Geoff Dyer on a Photographic and Chinese History Tour. They thoroughly enjoyed the experience and Ping and Geoff enthusiastically encouraged us to start up this tourism enterprise that they believed offered an “extraordinary once in a lifetime experience”.
Dick was born in St Helens and raised nearby in the lush green farming district of Pyengana until the age of eight when he and his family moved to Launceston. Binalong Bay, that forms part of the iconic Bay of Fires, has now been a Le Fevre way of life for 5 generations. Dick and his family have always holidayed here. In his younger years, Dick spent a lot of time camping, fishing and exploring the area. Now he and his wife Kathy are lucky enough to live here.
Local knowledge counts. From the crystal blue sea, through quaint farming villages, to the rainforest and hinterlands wandering about there is much to discover. Dick knows many of those special out of the way places (that often only locals know) and he is happy to take you there and share the stories and history of the area.
