Bay of Fires & Beyond

Full Day Tour
Pick up 8:30am
After pick-up at your accommodation or prearranged spot, it’s off for a day of beaches, a lighthouse and scenery beyond imagination.
First up it's off to St Helens Point for views as far south as Iron-house Point.
Then it’s off to Binalong Bay at the southern end of the Bay of Fires and time for a light morning tea and time to explore the pure white sand beaches and the orange lichen covered rocks and azure waters of the Tasman Sea in the Bay of Fires.
From here it’s off to Eddystone Point Lighthouse at the northern tip of the Bay of Fires.
Who knows, we might even get to see an albino Echidna, Sea Eagles or Wedgetail Eagles along the way.
Lunch
Lunch is at your own expense. Options include:

- Stop at one of the cafés along the way

There is a fridge on board to keep things cold.
After a journey into the northern part of Mt William National Park and the holiday village of Musselroe Bay we head for home.

Hinterland & Rainforest Tour
Pyengana, St Columba Falls, Anchor Stampers, Mount Paris Dam
Full Day Tour
Pick up 8:30am
After pick-up at your accommodation or prearranged spot, it’s off for a day of waterfalls, rainforests and rural villages.
First up its off to the rainforest and Saint Columba waterfall at Pyengana, which is Tassie's second highest waterfall.
We then head off to the Blue Tier and walk beside a mossy stream on our way to the Anchor Tin Mine. Here you will see the preserved tin Anchor Stampers - mining equipment that was used on and off between 1880 and 1996.
We then visit a glow-worm tunnel and take a short walk through a myrtle forest.
Then it's on to Mount Paris Dam, an old concrete buttress constructed dam built for the Mount Paris Tin Mine. Prouds (of jewellery fame) were major shareholders in this project.
Lunch
Lunch is at your own expense. Options include:

- Stop at one of the cafés or pubs in Weldborough or Derby along the way
- A gourmet lunch (on request - 24 hours notice required)
After lunch, it’s off to see the Blue Lake at Pioneer.
Then return to accommodation or pick up point via the east coast dry eucalyptus forests. On the way we call to see an old, abandoned farm with the original old cottage still standing amongst the daffodils in the spring. Whilst there, we may even see a platypus in the stream.

Four Falls Tour
Mathinna Falls, St Columbia Falls, Ralph Falls and Halls Falls
Full Day Tour
Pick up 8:30am
After pick-up at your accommodation or pre-arranged spot, it’s off for a day of waterfalls and incredible views.
First up is Mathinna Falls and a short walk followed by a light morning tea.
We then head to Saint Columba Falls via some of the north-east forest roads, ready for another short walk to the base of the cascading waterfall.
Lunch
Lunch is at your own expense. Options include:
- Bring a picnic
- Stop at one of the cafés along the way
- A gourmet lunch at the Falls (available on request - 24 hours notice required)
After lunch it’s off to Ralph Falls where along the way, extensive views of the north-east farming district can be seen and, on a clear day, right through to Bass Strait.
Lastly we visit Halls Falls, about an hour return walk.
It’s then back to base.

This is largely a tour of your choice.
We have magnificent views and endless experiences for you to enjoy. The north-east has a vast array of beautiful rainforests, pristine white beaches, orange lichen covered rocks and crystal-clear waters that await you.
As well as the above, there are mining relics amid the towering tree ferns, an old, abandoned dam by a meandering stream and picturesque old, abandoned farmhouses to be seen.
Lunch
As this tour is mainly focused on rural and forest settings, a picnic lunch that you have prepared earlier for yourself is suggested or a gourmet lunch can be provided if you prefer (24 hours notice required).
A light morning afternoon/afternoon tea is provided but lunches are at your own expense unless provided by yourself.

This is a late afternoon to evening tour to see the many nocturnal animals of our region.
If you’re lucky enough you will get to see pademelon’s, wombats, Tassie devils and eastern spotted quolls and Wallabies.

Morning Tour
Pick up 8:00am St Helens
Leaving St Helens we travel to St Columba Falls and do a short 30 minute walk to the base of the Falls. The walk takes you through one of the areas beautiful rainforests with towering tree ferns (Antarctic Dicksonia).
After exploring the local area, we stop off at Pyengana Dairy for morning tea before returning to St Helens. Pyengana Dairy have been creating some of Australia’s finest artisan farmhouse cheese for over 130 years.
Then back to St Helens.
Afternoon Tour
Pick up 1:00pm St Helens
Leaving St Helens we travel to the iconic Pub in the Paddock or Pyengana Dairy for lunch (your choice).
After lunch, we head to the spectacular Saint Columba Falls for a 30 minute return walk to the base of the Falls. The walk takes you through one of the areas beautiful rainforests with towering tree ferns (Antarctic Dicksonia).
Then back to St Helens.

Priory Ridge and Pyengana Cheese

First stop is Priory Ridge Wines at Priory, the most northern winery on the Great Eastern Wine Journey in Tasmania.
A Bay of Fires cheese tasting can also be included at this site. And along the way, why not grab some of Tasmanians finest oysters to enjoy.
Then it’s off to the Pyengana Dairy to taste the iconic cheddar cheese that has been made in this fertile valley for over a century. You can also see the cows being milked by a robot!

Tours can include visits to The Gardens, Bay of Fires, Sloop Rock, Swimcart Beach, Jeneratte Beach and Binalong Bay Beach (voted the Best Beach in the World by Lonely Planet). St Helens point with views to the south, where Peron Dunes and St Helens Island can be viewed. Ansons Bay and Eddystone Point, with its iconic lighthouse in the Northern end of the Bay of Fires are also popular.
The hinterland forests and farming communities are a must if you would prefer something a little greener. The hinterlands can include visits to Derby, Weldborough, Pyengana, St Columba Falls, Mount Paris Dam, Cascade Dam, Moorina, and Halls Falls. Mathina Falls and Evercreech Whitegum Reserve are also there to be seen.
